In-Person Advocacy at School
Do you have a meeting planned with your child’s school?
Are you worried about it?
I am a Child Development Specialist, Responsive Parenting Mentor, Child Rights Advocate and Mom to 3 Neurodivergent Children who attend public school. I have been to a lot of parent-teacher meetings. Often it is just me and my husband with 4-6 other adults. I feel I’ve developed an ability to negotiate my child’s needs within the school’s limitations.
I want to share my unique skill set with other parents who may feel uncomfortable, intimidated or confused about their visit with the school. I want to reassure you, give you the confidence you need to be your child’s advocate, while having reasonable expectations for what might happen and what you can do to support your child.
For those who are located in Nova Scotia, Canada, within 3 hours of the HRM, I could be available to come with you to your meeting. This is something we would discuss in a private phone consultation. The minimum is 3 hours for this service and it includes travel time.
